You want to build a powerful ship with lots of turrets so you can destroy other ships for Loot. You could also play peaceful but at the moment there are only a few game elements. Killing other ships is basically the only thing you can do in late game. Killing other ships will give you a lot of good stuff and the dropped loot will increase your ranking on the leaderboard. When you first create a ship, 2 RC Turrets (Starter) will be present on the walls on your ship. These turrets cannot be looted

This should put an end to the most serious thefts, which happen while an owner is offline. Greifing and smaller thefts will still be possible.
Initially, the game wasn't fully persistent. You were expected to spend maybe a few hours on a ship, then it gets blown up and you restart. In that kind of game, I was totally fine with theft and greifing. But now users spend potentially hundreds of hours hoarding, building, and trying to obtain ultra-rare items, and I can't allow it to continue in good conscience.

I have very mixed feelings about making the game fully persistent. On one hand, persistence is probably responsible for what little success the game has achieved. On the other hand, I feel like a lot of bad decisions were baked into the design of the game early on, which are now extremely difficult to change. It's hard to introduce new content when I have to think about how it interacts with an economy and disrupts the existing meta.

Drednot.io is an aerial warfare io game with 2D graphics. Build a flying battleship with a team and put it to the test. Pilot your ship, man turrets, build, and craft your way to the top of the leaderboard. There are many ways to play the game: You can build a dreadnought with dozens of guns and a large crew, or a small and maneuverable vessel for only your friends. You can choose to fight other ships for their loot, or peacefully farm bots and mine. When you first spawn into your ship, you should make sure your turrets are loaded. Move with WASD and Space. Grab a box of ammo by clicking, then click on your turrets. Items can be dropped by pressing Q. Craft new items using your fabricator. You should probably stock up on extra ammo and shield boosters. You can also craft ship embiggeners to make your ship larger and give yourself more room for fabricators, cargo, and turrets. To pilot your ship, click on the orange helm wheel. Your view will zoom out. Control your zoom by scrolling or by pressing C. Move using WASD. The orange RC turrets can be aimed and fired from the helm by clicking, but other turrets must be controlled manually. You can press Space to exit the helm, but when starting out you should find some bots (the large red circles) and shoot at them for materials.
